Avondale Estates Apartments and Homes
This Atlanta-area village offers a range of housing options.

The downtown area of Avondale Estates, Ga. was designed to look like an old English village, and so were many of its homes. But this Atlanta suburb has a mix of architectural styles and housing options for those who want to make this village their new address.
Apartment rents are affordable for being inside the perimeter. Apartment communities boast easy access to the interstate for when you need to get into Atlanta. However, because this city is small, there are only a few apartment complexes. You can find an apartment in Decatur, Glennwood Estates or unincorporated DeKalb County, and still be close to Avondale Estates' quaint downtown.
Oak Creek Apartments on Northern Avenue in Avondale Estates has studio, one- and two-bedroom units with rent ranging from just over $500 to around $800 per month. Amenities include free Internet and laundry and a business center.
Willow Ridge Apartments on Rockbridge Road offers two-bedroom, two-bath apartments for $645 per month. Amenities in this community include a swimming pool, tennis court, playground and laundry center.
The city has plans to renovate Forrest Heights Apartments on Forrest Boulevard into a senior housing community that has an architectural design that is compatible with the town's Tudor-style construction.
You'll find a wider selection of condominium communities than you will apartments. Brookside Parc, located on Brookside Parc Lane off Rockbridge Road, offers three-bedroom townhomes listing between $150,000 and $200,000.
Stratford Green condominiums off North Avondale Road offers two-bedroom townhomes between $80,000 and $120,000.
In addition to the above condo communities, many units on the market don't belong to a named complex. A search on real estate websites will help you find these properties, which range in price from about $60,000 to $130,000.
A real estate search will also reveal a nice range of prices for single-family homes, from about $100,000 to nearly $1 million. On the high end, you can find a fully restored and updated historic home on one of the city's more prestigious streets. Some beautiful homes can be found with a great view of Avondale Lake, with its adjacent park and walking path. Some of the homes on Lakeshore Drive are new construction. Throughout the city's historic areas, homes have been renovated. A three-bedroom bungalow or cottage-style home with updates lists for between $300,000 and $400,000. Ranchers and split-level homes can be found for about $250,000 to $300,000.
In the lower price ranges, single-family homes listing for $100,000 and up are generally ready for repairs and improvements. Some can be torn down for new construction.
