With a median home sale price of about $220,000 Marietta, Ga. is an affordable Atlanta bedroom community. If you're looking to make this city of 67,000 your home address, you have a lot of options.

Single-family home prices range from under $100,000 on up. A home in the median price range will generally include single family homes in a wide range of styles, from rancher to Cape Cod, with some nice properties from which to choose. On the high end are estates listed for nearly $6 million, but many nice homes are available at much lower price points. The Preserve offers homes in the $850,000 range. Waterford Green offers a swimming pool, club house, playground and other amenities with homes also starting at around $800,000. In the $300,000 price range, you'll find beautiful homes with many features, in subdivisions offering swimming pools, parks and other amenities.

If you're looking for a condominium, you'll have more to choose from in the Marietta city limits if your price point is higher than $250,000. One hot development is Washington Avenue Commons, a downtown historic restoration project offering luxury one- two- and three-bedroom condominiums from around $300,000. Amenities include private building access, covered parking, guest parking and a club room. Another downtown development is Manget Phase I, with three-bedroom condos available for around $320,000. River Place offers luxury condos with garages on the Chattahoochee River for about $500,000. On the lower end of the price scale, Grove Park offers condos for around $200,000, for a two-bedroom condo with gated entry and a swimming pool.

If you're looking to rent in Marietta, you can expect to pay at least $600 per month for a single-family home, with most homes renting for around $1,400. Some luxury homes rent for $3,000 or more.

There are also several large apartment communities, most with easy access to area interstates. Lakeside at Town Center and Parkside at Town Center both have one-, two- and three-bedroom homes ranging from about $600 to $1,400 per month. Amenities include a swimming pool with fountain, playground, controlled-access gates, laundry room and fitness center.

Laurel Hills Preserve has one- and two-bedroom apartments available ranging from about $600 to $800 per month. Amenities include a swimming pool, club house and children's play area.

Walton Village Apartments offers an abundance of community features, including controlled access, walking trails, fitness center, swimming pool and child enrichment center. Rents range from about $700 to $950. Residents age 55 and older can check out The Legacy at Walton Heights, a Walton community that caters to active adults with controlled access, a fitness center and lending library.
