Season 1, Episode 7

Sassy Sisters Against Artistic Friends

This episode of Flea Market Flip features design-savvy and sassy sisters Susan and Jennifer taking on artistic friends Vanessa and Bao. Each team is given a $500 budget to find, fix-up and flip projects from items purchased at the Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market. Given only one hour to scour the aisles, the teams must shop for design projects that feature a retro inspired design, a fabric project and transforming an eyesore into a chic design. After discovering some hidden gems at the flea market, both teams roll up their sleeves and get to work transforming and refurbishing their finds in the workshop, in the hopes of raking in big profits at New York's hippest flea market, Brooklyn Flea. The team that makes the most money selling their re-imagined pieces goes home $5,000 richer. Hosted by Designer/Flea Market Aficionado and Good Morning America Co-Anchor Lara Spencer.

Hidden Treasures

Don't just stick to familiar territory. Look through boxes, go to the back of the shop and look for good "bones" on furniture.

Mason Jar Flip

Mason jars are ubiquitous in the DIY/upcycling world. Take a stab at the repurposing trend by turning these containers into a rustic chandelier.

Repurposed Jug Lamp

Just about anything you find at a flea market can instantly become a light fixture. Lara turned this jug into a lamp base and topped it with a shade she created out of old maps of Paris.

Window to Wall Coat

Hang coats, purses or reusable bags on this arched window turned into a wall coat tree. Personalize it by painting your house number on the glass, like Lara did here.

Industrial Lights

The industrial rustic trend doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, which is perfectly alright with us. Lara's DIY wire basket pendant lights are easy to recreate and add definite industrial flare.

Cluster of Candles

We love Lara's ingenious idea to use candlesticks as lamps. When clustered together, these unique light fixtures provide tons of light and add interest to any room.

Nautical Nonsense

Lara painted the outer portion of this frame white and the rope detail on the inner area brown. The contrasting paint adds interest and draws the eye to the nautical print.

Go Ahead and Haggle!

Get what you really want by always being charming, bundling your purchase, and buying at the end of the day.

Trunk Side Table, Vintage Table with Light

This old trunk may look worse for the wear, but Lara saw a diamond in the rough. She added a light feature along with an antique coffin handle to make a unique side table with storage.

Refurbished Dining Set With New Fabric and Paint

Before, this dining set was dark and dreary, but Lara noticed the great detail and craftsmanship in the chairs, so she revived them with some paint and new fabric.
