Fashioned from old license plates, a sign saying "Happy" brings that emotion to an already-cheerful yellow space.

Vintage paintings get a new life with quotes written on top.

Paired with colorful new accessories, this vintage green chair now feels fresh.

The Junk Gypsies set up this bedroom with roadside treasures and DIY projects, including a French-horn light, cargo nightstand and renovated antique chair.

Bright paint and upholstery fabric can revive almost any piece of furniture.

A French cookie tin becomes craft-supply organization in this craft room makeover.

A plain headboard gets an upgrade with decoupaged artwork.

Used indoors, an old window awning brings a sense of the outdoors to this space, while a vintage dress form feels feminine and sculptural.

The Junk Gypsies created a rock-n-roll living room for Texas musician John Evans, turning an old piano keyboard into this coffee table.

Also for John Evans, they turned a sentimental jukebox into a useful wall shelf.

During a makeover of their parents' house, Amie and Jolie styled this eclectic tabletop: a green glass lamp with crocheted shade, pink laughing Buddha statue and vase filled with vintage pool balls.

A vintage soda sign adds cheerful color and a graphic touch.

Also at their parents' house, an oversized chicken statue and lighted "Drive-In" sign give the dining room a retro-country feel.

In Amie's own living room, antique angel wings become the focal point in a collection of art above the sofa.

This fish adds a touch of masculine kitsch to Amie's otherwise decidedly feminine space.

With the help of a simple light kit, an old globe is transformed into a clever shade.

For another upcycled light fixture, the Junk Gypsies used pages from an old book to create a smart chandelier.
