Episode 103

The sub floor is in, and the timbers are up, but the Colorado monsoons are in full force, causing complications and delays. Walls and roof have to go up before the Colorado snow comes, and Greg Krom and his team are working with unfamiliar building elements—SIPs, highly insulated, structural panel for the walls and roof. To break the tension, Chris Dorsey takes the crew fishing. Dorsey talks about reclaimed beetle damaged wood, which is being used for the locker room. The wood represents Dorsey's commitment to wildlife conservation, which is echoed in the paintings of artists such as John Banovich, which will fill the finished lodge.

The deadline looms closer and winter weather continues to be an issue for the crew; the ground isn't getting any softer. And with a dozen projects going on at once-the bamboo flooring, the lightning rods, the Alaska Theater and more-it will require some complicated choreography from Greg and Rebecca to keep the crews from stepping all over each other. On a rare day off for the crew, Chris Dorsey treats the guys to a classic fish fry at the build site.

Randy wins an old schoolhouse in Lake Worth for a song, but discovers that the inside has nothing: no toilet, no kitchen, just an empty room. At first he wants to tear it down, but he then decides to transform it by vaulting the ceiling and creating a loft space, bath, and kitchen. Donna stops by to give Randy some grief, and spots a storage container on his lot. She bets him that she could make more money flipping the container than he will make on his house. Donna gets her sister and Suzi Slay to join in on the 'Randy Revenge.' The girls band together to turn a steel container into a cozy home reflecting their different styles, but that's easier said than done.

Cody Slay wins a house in White Settlement for $500, which he believes has mostly cosmetic problems. When he and Suzi tour the interior, their hearts sink: it is a disaster. Casey refuses to move the house, but Cody wants to lift it himself to save his investment. That is when disaster strikes. Meanwhile, Randy wins a sweet little house in excellent condition on the exterior but with a big surprise inside. If he can completely transform the bizarre feature walls, old carpeting and outdated kitchen, this house can turn a pretty profit at auction time.

The Snow sisters score a little cottage that needs a lot of TLC. Donna thinks they should pass on the sad little house because it is in bad shape, but Toni thinks it is an ugly duckling that will turn into a beautiful swan. Once the house is moved, the sisters find inspiration and give the kitchen a 1950s feel. Randy starts out with money in his pocket when he grabs a little box house addition that he was paid $500 to haul away. He puts the house on a trailer and turns it into a hip movable house that will attract interest at auction. There is bound to be a lot of competition between these two small houses on auction day.

Cody and Suzi Slay win a house that has great potential, but the post-auction tour reveals the house was in the middle of being renovated. The Slays are excited by the potential return on investment, despite a weird layout that has no usable closets but does have a large open space in the middle of the house. Suzi decides to have Cody build a luxury walk-in closet modeled after her closet at home. Meanwhile, the Snow sisters are not bidding this week, because school-building season is in full bloom. The Snows make their flipping cash moving school buildings, so it's all hands on deck with the Snow family to get things done.

All of the house movers know that a certain home in Forth Worth has been vacant for ages, which usually means the interior is trashed. The Snow sisters win the house at auction, and are elated to find that the interior is in fantastic condition. This means they can make a big profit on a quick and easy flip. Meanwhile, Cody and Suzi take on an unusual structure: a portable school building. They decide to turn it into a combination home and workshop, but making a commercial building into a home is a big challenge.

Episode 102F2

A house on Waller Lane in Colleyville, Texas, is viewed hesitantly by all of the house movers because the property is heavily forested making it an expensive if not impossible move. Donna has a crafty plan to pull the house out through the backyard to the street behind, but she plays along like she doesn't want the house to try to keep the price low. Her plan works and she and Toni score the sweet little house for cheap. She and Toni have grand plans for the renovation, including a woman cave and Southwest decor, but will the high cost put a serious dent in their potential profit? Another house on Callender Road in Mansfield, Texas, looks promising from what little the movers can see through the kitchen door. It's clear from the exterior that at least one wall is buckling and the house could have serious structural issues. Cody is undeterred and wins the house. It's a nail biter of a move as Cody must shore-up the structure before it can be lifted. Suzi has issues with the house because of the odd layout and is shocked to find out the front entrance leads right into the bedrooms. Cody literally flips the house by turning it around and creates a new front entrance out of what was originally the kitchen door. To top it off, they make a home office out of the old entry.
