Ashley Petrone of Arrows and Bows

Meet Ashley Petrone, California tiny home designer, blogger and mom of three. In the spring of 2017, Ashley and her family sold their 5 bedroom home and moved into an RV trailer on 2.2 acres of land while they wait to build her dream home. In just three weeks, Ashley and her husband transformed a dated RV trailer into a stylish, modern home. She chronicles her tiny home lifestyle on her blog, Arrows and Bow and on her Instagram feed.

Before: Tired RV Trailer

Ashley and her family bought a 31-foot 2003 Cougar Keystone for their temporary home. Ashley says one of the best decisions she and her husband made was to paint the outside. "It took us 4 days and was labor intensive, but so worth it," says Ashley.

After: Fresh and New

Ashley selected a black and white theme throughout the space. "We stripped, sanded and painted the outside of the RV to give it the same fresh look it has inside," she says. The result is a striking, updated look for the Cougar Keystone.

Before: Dingy and Blue

Everthing was old, dingy and blue. There was too much fabric in such a small space, so it was all removed.

After: Bright and Light

By tearing out unneeded and bulky furniture and removing the dingy carpet, it opened up the space giving it a fresh, bright feel.

Futon Seating

After ripping out the old couch, Ashley went with an inexpensive futon. A few cozy pillows and hanging planters completed the space.

Before: Outdated Kitchen

The kitchen was dark, with dated wallpaper and brown cabinets.

After: Modern Tiny Kitchen

The new kitchen features white cabinets and bright and fun tile. Even in a tiny space, Ashley is constantly moving things around and playing with accents to refresh the space. Her latest add: a copper holder and oranges. Ashley says that moving things around and adding small accents keeps things feeling new in the small space.

Before: Sad Bathroom

The bathroom also featured weathered, dated wallpaper and dark cabinets with no natural light source.

After: Small Space, Big Style

The bathroom remodel included a cement tile backsplash, new light fixtures, paint and a new faucet; an inexpensive but much-needed refresh.

Before: Too Dark Bedroom

"The bedroom was so dark and claustrophobic, painting everything white in here changed all that," says Ashley.

After: Neutral but Never Boring

To help make the RV feel bigger, clean and consistent, Ashley kept the same color scheme throughout her home. Her new bedroom is a perfect example of the RV's color scheme.

Dining for Four

"I wanted to create the feeling of home in here," says Ashley. She added in this little dining table and some personal touches from her previous home.
