Season 1, Episode 2

Hidden History

Every home has a secret. First, we travel to the New York home of Sherrie and Matt Diduro who find the previous owners' secret to success kept popping up all over their property. Next Steve Hairfield hires a safecracker to unlock the mystery surrounding his home's prominent past. The next two homeowners unearth relics linking their houses to the Civil War. In Maryland, Debra and Christopher Allen learn their home came with an unusual feature. Dan and Ruth McLaughlin find that the previous owner of their house was ahead of his time. Mysterious discoveries are made during renovation projects in Iowa and Massachusetts. Next, huge Victorian mansions have many secrets to tell, and the next two home owners were able to unlock the history of their mansions by finding items hidden within the walls. Finally, we travel to Michigan to learn about Doug and Nancy's property's prize-winning past.

Restoration Discoveries

First, Jeff and Connie Kelsey in Snohomish, WA were able to uncover their home's past and restore it to it's former glory. Next, a couple in North Carolina find a hidden fortune in their attic. Secret passages and hidden rooms make Chuck Bressi and Jeff DiGregorio curious about their home's unusual past. A ghost story and several spooky finds in the next house make the Rutkowskis research their 200 year old Virginia home to see if the bloody legends have any merit. Both an Independence, MO and a Decatur Alabama home are littered with bullet holes from the past. We also visit an Alabama home with a link to an infamous outlaw. Two Prohibition era homes' secrets are unbottled. Unusual trinkets found during renovation offer odd clues to a Priest River Idaho home. Rich and Mary Nourse find a bundle of love notes that lend clues about their recipient. And finally we travel to the historic Waverly homey that is both a private residence and a museum.

Connections to the Past

First, celebrity connections are uncovered in a St. Louis, Missouri home of Kevin and Patti Short. Next, Cookie Shearer renovated a spooky mansion back to its Victorian splendor and learned about its previous owners through artifacts that were left behind. A Gettysburg home has a dramatic story to tell. A 200-year-old time capsule is discovered in Rockland, Massachusetts and an Elgin, Illinois home was paid for by illicit activity. An old walking stick lends clues to a Topsham, Maine home dating back to the 1820s. Dan Hawkins and TJ Bath uncover mysteries while renovating their Houston Texas home. Strange coincidences involving two different homes have current owners feeling a very strong connection to the past. In New Hampton, New Hampshire, the family dog unearths the key to unlocking the truth about Ron and Lyn O'Callaghan's home. And finally, Melissa and Jason Archibald discover their home's tragic history during renovations.

Forgotten Artifacts

First, scandal is discovered in the home Anna Atchison purchased that was previously owned by the former mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska. Next, Jane and George Morris renovated this 1890 Victorian in Bowling Green, Kentucky where they learned about the previous owners through artifacts that were left behind. A Georgetown, Ohio home and a Louisa County, Virginia home have presidential connections. Scott and Margaret Shoemaker search for a fortune believed to be left behind by a civil war general back in the 1800's. A Cadillac, Michigan home gets attention from the graffiti left behind. A Tifton, Georgia homeowner finds many valuable artifacts left behind by the previous homeowners. A renovation of a home in Chickamauga, Georgia pays for itself. A log cabin in Monroeville, Pennsylvania is restored and you won't believe what is discovered in the basement. A homeowner in Cascade, Idaho unearths artifacts dating back nearly 6,000 years ago. In Madison, Georgia Bill and Natalie Bhame discover the true history of their 'boat house'. Janet and Gene James discover the richness of their Greensburg, Pennsylvania home. A trip to the attic reveals how a family used their home and talents to survive the great depression.

Unraveling Mysteries

Every home has a story to tell. First, we travel to New York and Montana where these homeowners find many articles relating to women's suffrage. Next, Michael and Dene Myers find World War II memorabilia in their Missouri home and in West Virginia, Steve and Shelley Posey restore an old building finding the previous owner had a connection with a WWII veteran. In Washington, history teachers John and Kristin McPherson find a hidden note left behind by the previous owner. Next, these homeowners discover who's behind the murals in their home while another homeowner discovers their house was built with love. Finally, in Washington and New York, these homes were lucky enough to have two locations in their lifetime.

Unearthing the Past

Every home has a story to tell. First, Jami and Tom Hollenbaugh have a grave encounter with their Pennsylvania home's former occupants. Next, this Connecticut home has left many clues that led these homeowners to its original owner. The next two homes unravel medical mysteries with some unusual finds. The owners of these next two homes believe they have been beautifully composed. These next two homes secretly played an important role in the road to freedom during the Civil War. In Ohio, these homeowners find a present right around the corner. Next, Anne and Damian Putney find secrets hidden in the walls of their Washington home. In New York a home was built for scandal and in Oklahoma this home still has some unsolved mysteries. Finally, we travel to Mississippi where this home is a piece of Civil War history.
